Comparison

Why do I compare myself with someone who seems 'better-off' than me and fill my mind with despair
An ideal way would be to compare myself with someone who does not seem to be as 'better-off' as I am
This certainly will give me a feeling of gratitude
Another way to achieve a different result is to compare myself with myself 'x' years back
Leaving aside age if parameters that you have identified as 'success criteria' show an improvement
You are on the right path!
...And this is what should matter

My work

When I am out of my well-paid job, my only regret is that I do not have a salary hitting my bank account
Is that the only regret one should have or should it be more profound
Like was this work helping me discover myself similar to one peeling the skin of an onion and re-discovering a new layer (dimension) every time
Or was it that I was expecting too much from a 9:00-X:00 routine?

...I can already sense/feel the Maslow's hierarchy in my life and the vacuum that 'occupies' my mind
My routine now is to channelise all my efforts to replace this vacuum with a sense of purpose
A sense of purpose that will help me discover myself, challenge myself and above all ensure that my existence is in harmony with myself

Milestone based billing

Milestone based billing is a very popular term in the IT industry which simply means
A bill/invoice is sent to the customer once certain number of tasks or milestone (s) are completed
Similarly in life one gets a bill in the form of an event (good or bad, success or failure, good or ill health etc.)
This bill (amount and date) depends on the seeds (good or bad deeds) that have been sown in the past
Interestingly one cannot default on this bill; one has to pay it then and there through another series of good/bad deeds which in turn become the milestones for the next bill!

Investment

As soon as I filled in my personal details on a website for insurance policies and mutual funds
I was flooded with dozens of calls trying to convince me on how a particular policy or a mutual fund was the best
I wish there were 'agents of change' who advised me on how to -
- Invest in myself
- Invest in my relationships
- Invest in my physical and mental well-being
And the list certainly does not end here!
